Father, Listen
In 1999 Hugh’s younger brother Zane moved back to Maryland after 20 years in New York City. They were both in their late thirties, and Zane pointed out that they were just two more failed musicians.
So, they started working together. Zane jumped in and helped Hugh finish restoring an old schoolhouse and started painting art on the furniture Hugh was building. Then they started playing and singing their own songs and family songs together for the first time ever.
Most of the music Hugh has done since then, including the Father, Listen album, he credits to Zane’s enthusiasm and drive. “Ah, Nazaria” appears on this record, one of only two songs that Zane and Hugh have collaborated on.
