Frostburg Show a Success

Hugh and Zane brought their family musical history show to the Appalachian Festival in FrostburgĀ on September 18th. They were great, had good crowds, and played some of their songs, including “Shape of a Tear” and “Grandma Bessie,” as well as Ola Belle’s “High on a Mountain” and Uncle Hub’s “Don’t You Call My Name.” Their first performance included an onstage interview about the Campbell family and their migration from Lansing, NC, to PA and MD. Ola Belle’s CD and the Creative Alliance’s southern migration series is generating interest in how the southern mountain families, including the Campbells, brought the music north.
